Singapore Airlines (SIA) Perth SilverKris Lounge has been honoured as a winner at the latest Red Dot Design Award 2026 for its elevation of spatial and hospitality experience within an international context. Recognising outstanding works that demonstrate polished aesthetics and functionality, this Germany-based design award is a testament to the practice’s prioritisation of comprehensive design excellence and spatial quality.

As a refined extension of Singapore’s cultural richness anchored in the elegance and exceptional service standards of Singapore Airlines, SIA Perth SilverKris Lounge captures the brand’s essence to form a design distinct to its location while foregrounding a ‘home away from home’ concept. With wellbeing and comfort in mind, the open spatial planning incorporated enhanced amenities within its 480-square-metre lounge space, including a bar with barista, shower facilities and daily luxuries for the long-haul traveller. Sectioned into three main areas – bar, dining and living – to accommodate a diverse range of needs, the lounge provides adaptable zones with private and public spaces for different activities while catering to varying levels of socialisation across different group sizes. At the same time, this layout afforded wider pathways for universal accessibility, creating a space that is both inclusive and functional.

Designed as a holistic ground reception in line with SIA’s premium air experience, the interior scheme elegantly contextualises the lounge within its location in Perth to present a nuanced and thoughtful blend of elements iconic to Singapore and Western Australia (WA). The distinctive batik motif, set against SIA’s signature blue at its entrance, serves as a visual reminder of familiarity for those home-bound. Extending this motif into the lounge as accents on the walls of the social pods, the Singaporean flair fuses with the locally sourced blackbutt timber and Australian-made decorative finishes, including colourful native flower arrangements, to create a richness of tone, tactility and culture. Bringing the comfort and familiarity of home into international spaces, SIA Perth SilverKris Lounge offers a warm hospitality experience grounded in continuity and connection.
