While the idea of fusing retail and entertainment is not new, the sum of the two yields infinite creative possibilities and outcomes limited only by one’s imagination. The vision for Lotte’s second flagship duplex store in Changi Airport thus, found its genesis in the concept of a retail dreamscape; captivating and immersive yet abuzz with the thrill of shopping exclusives.
Adopting a radial floor plan, products and promotional gondolas are strategically placed in a circular arrangement, guiding visitors into the space. A robotic bartender occupies the atrium space, creating an interactive shopping experience. Above this lies a suspended media ring, a dynamic canvas for immersive storytelling. Showcasing Li Bai’s Forest, it functions as a prelude, beckoning customers to the Forest of Li Bai Lounge on the second floor.
The upper floor harnesses multimedia to expand on the shop’s sylvan-inspired theme. LED screens line the ceiling, mirroring a lush forest with cascading vines and earthy hues. Designed to mimic sunlight diffusing through leaves, the subtle lighting transforms the space reminiscent of a hidden woodland oasis. Slender tree trunk-inspired interactive media function as gamified installations that create a customised experience for each customer.
A luxurious and welcoming space is created through a palette of harmonious colours: champagne metals exuding sophistication, timber creating warm spaces and marble providing a touch of timeless elegance. VIPs are offered a more intimate and exclusive experience through the lounge and private tasting rooms, providing an escape into the world of personalised luxury.
